Today we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. He is alive! -- victorious over sin and death and all powers that hold us in subjection to the world, the flesh, and the devil. The apostle Paul wrote, Now God has not only raised the Lord, but will also raise us up through His power (1 Corinthians 6:14). What an amazing and compelling statement. If we have given our lives to Jesus Christ and died with Him, we believe that we are also alive with Him! He has the power of life. He is the life (John 14:6). So, are you alive in Christ, really alive? Please read what my dear friend, Angela Stanley, has written about that. Ponder it and take it to heart on this joyous Resurrection Day. “It's Holy Week and Good Friday was a day to reflect on how Jesus lovingly bore our sins on the Cross. On Sunday we celebrate the fact that HE IS RISEN! The grave could not hold Him! The Holy Spirit of God powerfully raised Jesus to NEW LIFE! Beloveds, how many of us are being kept in the stinking grave? How many of us are stuck in the grave of rotting attitudes and actions? How many of us have tried to roll away that stone of sin under our own power but feel defeated and drained? May each of us intentionally ask the Holy Spirit to roll away any stone which is keeping Jesus from fully rising and reigning in our lives, and may the power of His Holy Spirit then rise up in us with His Kingdom authority and compelling excitement so that we, too, can example and exhibit the power of the resurrected life of Jesus Christ in this dark and desperate world! Beloveds, RELEASE THE POWER!” Angela (Angela lives in Raleigh, North Carolina and faithfully leads a group of committed ladies who minister to the precious women in Southern Correctional Institution. Their ministry, Shepherd’s Heart Prison Ministry, provides a Disciplers Bible Study with discussion groups, lecture, singing, and prayer. The women of Shepherd’s Heart faithfully pray for the inmates and encourage them to pray for one another. Angela also delights in encouraging her grandson, Colin, in his faith in Jesus. From what I hear, he often encourages her by his life and faith as well.)

I have been involved in Disciplers since 1987, as a discussion leader, teacher, writer, and now as director. I am profoundly committed to the stewardship of this ministry which God has entrusted to me for a time. God’s word is the chief joy of my life. I cherish my personal time in the word, and I am filled with gratitude to be able to share His word with you, my fellow disciples in Christ. Categories |
